Jun 5, 2015- CEC held the Seminar on U.S.-China Economic and Trade Cooperation and the Annual Conference of 2015 at the DoubleTree Hotel in San Pedro. The conference is co-hosted by the California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), The Los Angeles Regional Export Council (LARExC) and the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles.
CEC’s President, Mr. Sherman Zhang, the Vice Chair of LARExC, Mr. Carlos Valderrama, and the Deputy Division Director of Electronic Commerce and Information of Jiangsu Province, Mr. Pu Fangzheng, kicked off the conference with opening remarks. The Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles, Ambassador. Liu Jian, delivered the luncheon keynote speech. As the special representative for California Governor Jerry Brown, Ms. Panorea Avdis also extended congratulations on the conference.
In addition, Commercial Counselor of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Los Angeles, Mr. Liu Haiyan, shared the in-depth analysis on the Chinese companies’ “going out” strategy and Deputy Director for International Affairs, Go-Biz’s Mr. Brian Peck, explained the investment environment in California.
Representatives from CEC member companies, including Bank of China, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, IVC, Landsea and Focus Technology participated in panel discussions together with U.S. businesses and relevant stakeholders from East West Bank, Dentons, E&Y, World Trade Center Los Angeles and etc.
Close to 300 attendees — including U.S.-Chinese government officials, business executives and CEC member companies attended the event.
